After I got a small CMOS camera, I intended to use it mainly for guiding. But one night, I figured why not try to capture images with it. I hooked it up to a cheap reflecting telescope to see what shots I could get of the moon. You can clearly tell I had some trouble focusing – perhaps I had some tilt when I attached the camera, or maybe the focuser knobs were too coarse. In any case, you can still make out some nice detail on those craters.
